pupils at school in Pakistan

Rahim Yar Khan City is in Southern Punjab where the Model Primary School is located. Abu al Hassan colony has 60-70 minority families.  Most of the parents of the 126 children who attend the school are sweepers, factory workers, daily wage earners, farm labourers and house maids. The school began in 2009 partly in response to the number of children running in the streets of the colony. (There are 23 million out of school children at any one time in Pakistan.)

The aim of the school is to provide an education to poor children who cannot afford the fees and books to go to a private school. By providing an education the children will have an opportunity to secure better jobs in the future and improve the lives of their families and community. There are six classes, preparatory to class five. The school is overseen by the pastor of the local Full Gospel Association (FGA) church.
