This sponsorship project focuses on financing the education of poor and often homeless children. Emmanuel Mission, and in particular its leader, Johnson Mwebembezi, began a ministry to disadvantaged children in Johnson’s own home some years ago and this project has emerged from that small beginning. There are around 400 children who are part of this programme in different parts of western Uganda and, as well as being brought into the country’s education system, their progress is regularly reviewed at group meetings with the programme leaders, and this review takes in every aspect of their lives. This is a holistic programme with a vision to transform the future of deprived children in all dimensions of living. It is a church-based ministry that is having a major impact in the lives of those who are participants in the programme.
