Change Tomorrow was started in 2017 by a young married couple who come from

Scotland and the Czech Republic. Change Tomorrow’s focus is on children’s education, women’s empowerment and sustainability and is based in a rural community near Mityana. Since Change Tomorrow started, its projects have been run by Ugandans for Ugandans.

The goal of Stand up for Women is to provide a support network, deepen understanding of bible truth, and raise awareness about gender equality and combating domestic violence.

The project caters for around 80 women split over two groups. Support is given through English lessons, pastoral support, Bible study and counselling.

In stages, the women are entered into the pig rearing programme and each person is given her own pig to look after. When the pig gives birth, one piglet is given to another woman, and another is given to the school. The remaining piglets and sow are taken home to become a sustainable source of income. Some pigs can be sold, and the income used for future investment. The women can then qualify to join the micro loan project. The ladies work in groups of three and all are equally responsible for each loan.
