Bilal Town is located on the edge of south eastern Lahore and was quickly subsumed into the main city with the rapid growth of houses due to the population explosion and drift from the surrounding villages to Lahore.
The founder of the school holds a Masters’ degree in Education, and in 2005 had a vision to help the illiterate minorities in the area in which they lived. A small purpose-built school was constructed in 2011 with twelve small to medium-sized rooms used for classes and one office space. There is a large hall used for morning assembly. Due to unforeseen circumstances and with the agreement of the donor, several rooms are now occupied by the Principal and his four children as their home. Currently the student strength is 220 from Playgroup to Class 8. There are 11 teachers teaching 11 classes.
The Gospel School System is run by a seven-member board which oversees the school’s main operations, future growth strategy and decision-making. Everyday activities are handled by the school’s Principal and his dedicated management team. A private academy, run by the well qualified Principal’s brother, was held in the evenings for class 9 and 10 for several years and produced good Matric results. Due to his work as a Government Employee, he had to relocate, and the Academy stopped. Those who complete Class 8 are encouraged to attend the Government High School.
